Deantha Edmunds, Canada’s first Inuk opera singer, has been appointed to the Order of Canada. This appointment acknowledges the sector wide impact Deantha’s ongoing work has had.
In her own words “I am in disbelief. I am honoured to be recognized for who I am and what I do. It is especially meaningful because our beautiful Governor General is an inspirational Inuk for me.”
