As part of the renewal of the Creative Export Strategy, the Creative Export Canada (CEC) program’s funding envelope has been increased by $4 million per year due to the creation of the new Export Development Stream (EDS). This new stream under the CEC program will offer funding as a grant or a contribution to new exporters, start-up exporters, and experienced exporters. The EDS will enable them to strengthen their capabilities, expand in international markets, access new international markets, and develop new or existing international business networks.
The EDS funding application package is now available. The application deadline for submitting a funding application is July 26, 2023, for projects with expenses starting between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024.
Before submitting your application, please read the Application Guidelines – Export Development Stream, and make sure you are eligible!

How to submit your application:
- Download the application form in PDF format before completing it (see attachment).
- Provide all the information requested. Incomplete or late requests will be automatically refused.
- Email your complete application to creativeexportcanada-exportationcreativecanada@pch.gc.ca before the deadline of July 26, 2023.
Ensure that application packages larger than 16 MB are submitted through multiple emails identified accordingly (e.g. 1 of X)
Important: If you have not received an acknowledgment receipt two weeks following the submission of your application, it is your responsibility to contact the program to ensure that your funding application has been received.
The program will host webinars to provide tips on submitting your application to the Export-Ready Stream. To register, please send an email to creativeexportcanada-exportationcreativecanada@pch.gc.ca.
Webinars will take place:
- In English: June 19, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) and June 29, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
- In French: June 15, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) and June 27, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
News from the Export-Ready Stream (ERS)!
The ERS provides contributions and support for export-ready projects that are expected to generate export revenues and help Canadian creative industries reach more people around the world. The ERS is aimed at larger-scale projects, with a minimum project cost of $150,000. The application period for projects with expenses starting between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, is now closed. The next intake will be in Fall 2023 (launch and deadline dates to be confirmed), for projects with expenses starting between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025.
